It includes steel support posts that are installed beneath the crawl space beams to provide stability and correct sagging floors. These posts are adjustable, allowing for precise leveling and ongoing support. The system is typically used in homes where the crawl space has been weakened by moisture, soil shifts, or inadequate support.
Ground moisture can weaken the soil beneath a home's foundation, leading to uneven settling or sagging floors. This occurs as the soil shifts or compresses under the weight of the structure. To address this issue, we installed SmartJack support posts, which stabilize and level the floor by providing additional support and preventing further sagging.
The existing floor joists in this home had weakened and shifted overtime, creating bouncy and sagging floors above. We permanently stabilized this home's floors by installing SmartJacks with steel supplemental beams throughout the crawl space. These fully-adjustable steel piers immediately stop settlement and may even lift the floors above back to their original position.
The team installed SmartJack support posts by first excavating areas in the crawl space to create stable bases for the posts. Then, they placed the SmartJacks on the prepared bases and adjusted them to provide the necessary support, stabilizing the crawl space and preventing further sinking. This solution addressed the issue of wall cracks caused by the sinking foundation.
